The 9th Didgeridoo Festival – Rosh Hashana – Jewish New Year 2013

The 9th Didgeridoo Festival – Rosh Hashana – Jewish New Year 2013
Three Days of Ethnic Musical Celebrations in the Heart of the Desert
September 5-7, 2013 – Desert Ashram
Come celebrate the opening of the New Year with a three day journey into tribal music, dance, workshops, parties and the silence of the desert. This is an opportunity to experience music without the need for prior knowledge; through dozens of sweeping and hypnotic concerts from Israel and abroad. Three complexes of workshops with the best teachers and artists will offer learning and practice of these special musical instruments.  This is a unique opportunity for human encounter across ages through the passion for music. This is the time to go back and connect to one tribe we are, under the auspices of the open wilderness in the heart of the desert.
In recent years a new phenomenon has emerged in music and dance: Organic Trance Music, in which tribal wind instruments: didgeridoo, mouth harp and other instruments create “One Note Music”, taking a major role in the musical genre. This unique musical style is characterized by its natural connection to the human soul, healing miracles and expanding consciousness, as well as intuitive creative self-expression for a wide variety of people.
It is essentially a revival of the ancient tribal trance, a powerful and moving experience of a sweeping and wonderful dance. Many artists such as Peter Gabriel, Jamiro Quai, Fools of Prophecy, and The Tractor's Revenge and more are greatly increasing use of tribal instrument in diverse musical styles.
Festival Didgeridoo began 9 years ago, as a one-day conference. Since then it has evolved and expanded to a great festival of three days and established itself as a central and unique cultural event in the organic trance scene and in one note music scene. It is considered one of the leading festivals in Europe and worldwide. During the festival the audience will be exposed to leading musicians from Israel and abroad dealing with genre where musicians combine the didgeridoo, mouth harp and throat singing.
The festival is being held for a second time in Desert Ashram in the heart of the Arava. The unique place is disconnected from the daily routine and allows the combination of freedom and beautiful wild desert with extraordinary musical experience using rudimentary and tribal instruments.
